Dennis’ Dogs: Week 4 College Football Picks

America loves a good underdog story. America also loves a quick buck. This weekly blog post gives you both. I will bring you three weekly double digit underdogs that’ll deliver in the pocket book. All lines used for the purpose of this post will be from

Week 3 was another disappointment. I really felt confident about my picks last week, but as they say, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. For the third consecutive week I went 1-3, bringing my overall record to 3-6. Thank goodness Idaho State covered against a very tough Utah team.

Connecticut @ Indianauconn indiana

Who I like: Connecticut

Why: Connecticut was my first love when it came to betting college football. They’re typically a double digit underdog and near and dear to my heart. Coming off of a close game against Illinois where they covered easily. The spread in that game was 21.5 and the Huskies only lost by eight points. Indiana struggled majorly last week with their starting QB, Michael Penix Jr sidelined due to injury against Ohio State. Indiana was unable to stop Ohio State and nearly unable to score. They lost 51-10. Huskies cover easily. This one is a lock.

Confidence Rating (1-10): 10

Southern Miss @ Alabamabama Smiss

Who I like: Southern Miss

Why: Southern Miss is traditionally good against the spread. This year, the one time they were the underdog they were 24.5 point underdogs and ended up winning the game 38-10. They love being the dogs and Alabama will have a hard time getting excited this week, likely looking ahead to their week 5 match-up against SEC rival, Ole Miss.

Confidence Rating (1-10): 7

Notre Dame @ GeorgiaND GA

Who I like: Notre Dame

Why: I fully expect this to be a close high scoring affair. Georia, led by Jake Fromm under center will certainly be a big test for an Irish defense that has struggled at times this year. Notre Dame seemed to have shaken their week 1 rust off in their game last week against New Mexico. Georgia’s defense hasn’t been tested much this year. If Notre Dame gets their running game going Notre Dame not only covers, but wins.

Confidence Rating (1-10): 8
